    Manager, Sales, Air and Sea

     

    Main Purpose:

    • To lead, support, coach and develop a team of field sales persons, ensuring that the required new business targets are met as a result of gaining profitable new clients. Attain new business in the KZN area. Identify new business opportunities and market trends, setting strategic growth plans for the region.
    • Manage the sales team's lead bank to ensure the right clients are being targeted

    Job-related requirements:

    • A minimum of 5 years experience in Freight Forwarding knowledge and Client Facing Experience (2 years min)
    • Experience in managing a team would be an added advantage.
    • A Proven track record in selling and meeting targets.
    • Ability to present in front of Blue-Chip clients at a senior level.

    Electives:

    • Leadership ability, goal driven, enjoying pressure environments, financial acumen, knowledge of current Incoterms, direct client facing experience
    • Ability to develop client relationships and grow business, organizational ability, manage the detail around the team, discipline

    Tertiary Qualification: Advantage

    • Computer literacy: MS Excel, Outlook, Word

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • To hold prospecting blitz's and run various campaigns to accelerate the process of gaining new business
    • To assist and support the sales team in preparing and delivering proposals, tenders and presentations to potential clients that are of a high standard
    • Ensure required monthly and accumulative targets are met
    • To compile and oversee the completion of required weekley, monthly and quarterly reporting
    • To ensure adherence by sales persons and the team at large with established policies and procedures
    • To build and foster good relations with various other internal and external stakeholders.
    • Managing your sales team to ensure that all are contributing and achieving target
    • Achieving the sales budget for the year
    • Retaining our exisiting client base
    • Ensure that DSV products and services are embedded within our client base
    • Driving Innovation within our clients
    • Manage debtors
    • Being an ambassador for the DSV brand

    Daily:

    • Direct Client engagements - dealing with crisis, preparing presentations, supporting your team
    • Daily management of your direct staff
    • Driving the effective use of MS Dynamics as a CRM tool

    Weekly:

    • Feedback to the management team of previous weeks client engagements
    • Report ex MS Dynamics of previous weeks activities

    Monthly:

    • Month end reports to the GM and the to Sale director
    • 1-1 sessions with your staff
    • Manage any internation sales visits or regional visits

    Annually:

    • Develop an annual budgetfor the comining year
    • Develop the srategy and focus areas for the coming year
    • Ensure that we are correctly resourced to achieve budget
