Apex Fund and Corporate Services is seeking to invite applications from candidates for a Transfer Agency Manager for its Cape Town office. This position will operate as a manager of the Investor Servicing team, responsible for overseeing resources, allocation of work training and optimizing processes. The position requires a firm knowledge of transfer agency processes and must always ensure adherence to all Internal transfer agency procedures in addition to both internal and regulatory AML requirements.
The Role & Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of operations and control functions within the team and to monitor operational risk across the team.
Responsible for reviewing controls and existing procedures across teams.
Keep up to date on all regulatory and internal risk updates that impact the business ensuring the operations teams have the necessary knowledge and systems in place to deal with the updates
Identify and implement process improvements/system enhancements across the transfer agency department.
Responsible for implementing standard operating procedures and business rules across teams, processes and systems.
Responsible for creating and implementing standard processes across Clients and jurisdictions.
Identify training needs and arrange training sessions as well as training documentation
Ensuring Apex Group policies are adhered too and drive adherence of all operational frameworks within the teams by enforcing operational discipline using procedures and checklists
Ensure all regulatory reporting (onshore and offshore) is delivered within the required timeframes
Maintaining oversight of day-to-day operations of team and ensuring all team members respond to queries in a timely manner.
Ensuring that all day-to-day matters required to be completed are performed in a timely and satisfactory manner including monitoring tasks and delegating these across the relevant team
Assist with planning and coordination of any audit requests
Responsible for providing team and individual KPI reporting
Responsible for documenting and reviewing incident reporting
Be the contact person for Client operational issues
Providing monthly reports and feedback to senior management
Participate in presentations for business opportunities from new and existing clients
Be responsible for change management where required including Ad hoc project management (as required)
Assisting in the further development of new and existing global client relationships, optimising service offerings, productivity and profitability
Skills Required:
10+years of proven experience managing an Investor Services/Transfer Agency team
Detailed knowledge of Transfer agency systems, preferably Paxus
Knowledge of accounting, finance and investment concepts
Must be able to work with all levels within the organisation
