    Marketing and Communication Manager

    • The successful candidate must think and communicate clearly and be able to work with stakeholders to help formulate a viewpoint on complex issues, creating concise and well-written narratives. They will develop effective approaches to difficult communications challenges. 

    External Communications

    • Raise Turner & Townsend’s market profile by supporting the development of strategic campaigns and developing an annual marketing strategy in collaboration with the Africa Head of Business Generation & Marketing.
    • Implement the Africa communications strategy and ensure there is a consistent stream of activity that is underpinned by the agreed themes coming out of brand planning activities
    • Lead global campaigns and initiatives internally and externally to celebrate Turner & Townsend’s clients, projects and people.
    • Deliver integrated communications campaigns (both local and globally initiated campaigns such as annual review, ICMS launch, 360 view etc.) covering traditional, online and social media tactics
    • Manage award submissions, media relations, social media, digital, collateral, marketing channels and associated profile raising activities within the business generation function
    • Devise and implement tactical campaigns and programmes in partnership with the Head of Business Generation that increase awareness of our brand
    • Effectively position Turner & Townsend as an external spokesperson using relevant stakeholders as subject matter experts
    • Produce content with the support of external copywriters, in the form of thought leadership articles
    • Repurpose thought leadership content to develop other campaign related marketing materials, presentations and copy required. 
    • Gather facts and stats about projects and achievements of the business to include in value proposition development 
    • Owning the process of requesting and receiving client approvals to share information publically for marketing purposes (client quotes, testimonials and project information)
    • Planning and deliver world class events from start to finish, to Turner & Townsend standard and above, that are well attended by the right target audiences
    • Drive business units and their support staff to maintain the CRM tool so that contacts are up to date and the tool can be used as the single source of contact information for communication
    • Introduce new ways of working and improve processes within the Marcomms pillar of Business Generation
    • Track, record and report on the marketing teams’ campaign successes demonstrating the ROI of activities

    Internal Communications

    • Ensure that all campaigns have sufficiently covered communication and upskilling of our employees in order to drive employee engagement
    • Help to create and deliver brand-led communications content and activities that are inspiring to the employee audience, ensuring consistency, quality and excellence in all work
    • Contribute to global campaigns and initiatives internally and externally to celebrate Turner & Townsend’s clients, projects and people.
    • Drive a client-centric culture across all teams by leading a programme of business generation and marketing skill development, establishing tools and championing best practice. 
    • Participating and presenting at Board-level to report, highlight successes and contribute to strategic planning.  
    • Managing a cross-regional team that is responsible for internal and external marketing, market research, lead generation, key account management support, and proposal writing / bidding.

    Qualifications
    Capabilities, qualifications and attributes

    • 4-5 years+ experience communications/marketing in a professional services environment, ideally within the built environment (Preferable)
    • Degree in marketing or communication (Preferable) 
    • Strong copywriting skills and ability to identify and shape key messages
    • Communicates credibly and effectively about communications/marketing best practice
    • Strong attention to detail and believes accuracy to be important
    • Credible presence, comfortable to engage and influence at senior level
    • Collaborative working style, able to effectively engage colleagues at all levels, and across multiple regions globally. Team player
    • Resilient character that is agile and able to operate in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
