    • With this growth, AIA is seeking to employ a marketing and proposals manager – the prospective candidate should be a master of all trades, essentially. They should be energetic, innovative and passionate about business development, which in our case involves the tender bidding process, marketing of new products and services, and the development of sales pitches. This role is critical in ensuring the development, performance and maintenance of the tender process activities of AIA to obtain maximum efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation.

    THE POSITION 

    The Marketing and Proposals Manager is needed to contribute in the process of refining and enhancing, on an ongoing basis, the current and future sales and bid strategy. Some of the core responsibilities include the following:

    • Manage and support a highperformance team who deliver and execute the company’s bid functions.
    • Handson role supporting the partners with clients and prospective clients.
    • Manage daytoday bid process activities from the initial stage to submission and ensure optimal resource usage
    • Develop and manage the bid process plan towards effectively responding to RFIs, RFQs and RFPs
    • Analyse tender documents and research specific potential clients in order to develop targeted proposals that meet the clients’ needs and aspirations
    • Facilitate the writing of comprehensive responses to RFIs, RFQs and RFPs in order to produce winning proposals
    • Develop and manage a network of subject matter experts
    • Exercise quality assurance on of bid documents developed by team members, in accordance with the company and best practice standards
    • Ensure that bid documents are strictly submitted within set timescales
    • Implement and maintain a tender database for data and bid information for ease of use by internal bid team members
    • Facilitate administrative compliance of identified bids, tenders and quotes opportunities, i.e., accessing tender documents, accessing additional information needed for quotes, tender briefings, closing dates, returnable documents, printing, and binding of final tenders/quotes if to be submitted physically
    • Have a sound understanding of the sales process – from prospecting, and assisting partners with the presales efforts
    • The preferred candidate will have basic design capabilities to assist the partners in preparing for AIA hosted events, and the development of content for the execution thereof
    • Reporting: Provide a comprehensive sales and marketing report on a monthly and quarterly basis

    THE REQUIREMENTS

    • Honours Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration or Management, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Management, Accounting, Public Relations
    • Minimum 3 Years of solid experience in Sales, Business Development, Tender Administration and Development, Market Trends and Best Practices Sales Environment
    • Strong Sales Knowledge and Bid Management (Ideally in the Management Consulting Industry)
    • Project Management

    Commercial Acumen

    •          A willingness to travel to Rosebank for regular officebased duties
    •          Good interpersonal relationship skills
    •          Excellent verbal and written communication
    •          Ability to work effectively, both individually and in teams
    •          Substantial experience in Word, PowerPoint and Excel with excellent attention to detail
    •          Good planning and organising skills
