Materials & Glass Planner at The South African Breweries (SAB)

The Role

As the world’s leading brewer, we at AB InBev family are always on the lookout for bold decision-makers, who are ready for responsibility and thirsty for innovation, to join our teams in Africa. We are looking for Materials & Glass Planner to based in Johannesburg. Tech Supply is AB InBev’s global digital transformation program focused on our manufacturing facilities. The Tech Supply team is responsible for the exploration, development and implementation of technology to improve plant performance and ensure that our breweries are equipped for the future. 

The key responsibilities of the Materials & Glass Planner (but not limited to):

• Supplier management (operational level)​
• Ensuring material supply against requirement​
• Wxpediting of urgent deliveries​
• Stock level management at Brewery and Supplier​
• Materials management for NPD, Promotions and discontinuations ​
• Obsolescence tracking and management​
• Risk identification and mitigation ​
• System and Master Data maintenance​
• Identify and implement cost avoidance and cost reduction initiatives​
• KPI tracking​
• Reporting 

The ideal candidate is someone who is holds a relevant degree with minimum 3 years experience.

Miminum requirements include (but not limited to):

• Ability to negotiate and influence Suppliers​
• Strong analytical skills​
• Strong Problem solving ability​
• Familiarity with Supply chain principles, from Purchasing through to manufacturing​
• Ability to use SAP, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint​
• Excellent presentation, report drafting, and interpersonal skills​
• Discipline and rigor around process and attention to detail​
• Supply chain orientated degree, or degree in one of the numerical sciences preferred
