Job Description    
ImproChem is looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to work in Pietermaritzburg. To modification, repair and maintenance to plant equipment.ImproChem provides innovative, high quality and safe integrated water, energy, air and hygiene solutions which add sustainable value to our customers as well as our owners, employees and communities. We serve a diversity of industries including Upstream Oil & Gas Extraction and Production; Crude Oil Refining; CTL and GTL Plants; Downstream Petrochemicals; Mining; Metals; Power Generation; Paper; Sugar; Textiles; Automotive and many more.

Duties & Responsibilities    

•  Carry out daily plant mechanical repairs, maintenance on the plant.
•  Actively participate in activities to achieve the required goals whilst maintaining the specified engineering and safety standards.
•  Work effectively with others to successfully complete maintenance activities and objectives.
•  Ensure compliance to all SHEQ systems, Adhere to all SHEQ procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and regulations/legislation.
•  Be proactive to identify and correct potential unsafe conditions and acts.
•  Identify and implement Improvements.
•  Assist Supervisors and Line Managers.
•  Execute assigned Works order and close out.
•  Have sound of Engineering Standards and Code of Practices.
•  Perform standby duties.
•  Housekeeping.

Qualifications & Experience    

•  Matric / Grade 12.
•  Completed a recognized Mechanical Fitter trade apprenticeship.
•  Minimum 5 years’ experience as a qualified artisan including at least 2 years in a chemical / petrochemical environment.
•  Practical and administrative knowledge relating to statutory requirements (OHSACT, SABS, SANAS Codes of Practice etc.) and voluntary systems (ISO 9001, ISO
• 14001, CAIA etc.).
•  Computer Literacy is essential.
