5 years experience in fault finding and maintenance in high technology product environment
5 years experience in assembly and test of precision mechanical, electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical systems
2 years experience draughting and designing CAD 3D models and producing production drawings experience in operating workshop machinery and fabrication and inspection/quality control of mechanical parts
Seeking a well experienced Senior Mechanical Technician to support the SALT technical operations team with mechanical and opto-mechanical repairs and maintenance, as well as support projects by way of analysis, design, development, implementation, and testing.
The position is within a dynamic team, comprised of approximately three dozen staff, including astronomers, electronics, optical and mechanical engineers, technicians, and software developers.
Knowledge:
Solid MS Office experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Sound knowledge in CAD (Computer Aided Design) related modelling/draughting and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
