    Medical Receptionist

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

    • Greet patients professionally both in person and on the phone
    • The candidate will be responsible for front of office, diary management, contacting patients for follow up visits telephonically, via e-mail & Whatsapp, assisting with scripts, ensures that billing reaches Xpedient on a daily basis, management of all private patients, accepting patient payments via cash & card
    • Excellent attendance and does not want somebody that takes off unnecessarily as he has a very busy practice and needs someone he can rely on
    • Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation
    • Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
    • Completing billing tick sheet and adding ICD10 codes to the tick sheet
    • Assisting with Doctors direct requests, patient related, and practice related
    • Detailed handover to Office Administration in respect of patient related, and practice requests (Interaction with Xpedient Account Managers)
    • Assisting Xpedient Account Managers with all enquiries/queries to resolve supportive documents/information requirement for payment of claims
    • Capturing of patient information on GoodX
    • Capturing of billing, receipting in rooms when patients pay immediately, or after following up from Xpedient
    • Maintain and manage patient records (in compliance with the POPI Act)
    • Move patients through appointments as scheduled
    • Daily management/prioritizing of email correspondence and management of patient filing (documentation to be added to patient files)
    • Answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries
    • Files for confirmed patients to be pulled and prepared for next day consultations
    • Schedule patient appointments
    • Record billing information
    • Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
    • First point of contact for all telecoms
    • Final point of contact for patient file preparation for consult in rooms
    • Manage Doctors diary
    • Handling receipts and quotations
    • Arrange travelling and accommodation for Doctors and co-workers
    • To perform PA duties

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

    • Communication skills - able to listen effectively and express oneself in a polite, friendly, clear and articulate manner
    • Information collection and management - able to collect, organize and monitor data efficiently
    • Planning and organizing - able to multi-task, prioritize and schedule tasks and activities
    • Attention to detail - able to produce accurate and high-quality work
    • Customer service skills - able to develop good customer relationships with a focus on achieving customer satisfaction
    • Adaptability - able to adjust approach to meet changing demands and situations including dealing with diverse people
    • Confidentiality - able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
    • High school certificate
    • GoodX experience would be advantageous
    • Afrikaans speaking candidates would be preferable
