    Merchandiser - Cape Town

    Job Purpose
    The Merchandiser is responsible for managing and optimizing the internal stock movement and control processes across multiple warehouses. This role also serves as a backup to both Inbound and Outbound Logistics when needed. The primary goal is to maintain accurate inventory records, ensure efficient stock movement, execute stock adjustments, and provide backup support to our logistics operations.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the movement of stock between internal warehouse locations.
    • Assist with stock transfers, including packing, labeling, and transportation.
    • Conduct regular stock takes to ensure accurate inventory levels.
    • Bin and organize stock effectively within each Internal warehouse.
    • Monitor and assist with adjusting stock levels to meet demand and minimize excess inventory.
    • Collaborate with warehouse staff to resolve stock-related issues.
    • Maintain records of stock adjustments and transactions.
    • Ensure that all stock movements comply with safety and quality standards.
    • Identify and report discrepancies, damages, or quality issues with stored items.
    • Optimize warehouse layouts for efficient stock storage and retrieval.
    • Provide backup support for both Inbound and Outbound Logistics when required.
    • Provide regular reports on stock movement and inventory control.

     

    Requirements
    Experience and Knowledge:

    •  Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, merchandising, or stock management.
    •  Previous experience in managing stock movements and conducting stock takes.
    •  Knowledge of inventory management software and systems.
    •  Working experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
    •  Familiarity with relevant safety and quality standards.
    •  Experience providing backup support in logistics operations

    Skills and Education:

    •  High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certification is a plus).
    •  Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office.
    •  Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    •  Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    •  Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
    •  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
    •  Strong time management and project management skills.
