Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Developing and writing copy for digital content that meets business and marketing objectives from beginning to end, while working collaboratively with designers, producers and other digital team members to ensure that the visual elements of the creative work complement the words;
Creating clear, compelling copy to sell our clients’ products and services, in line with their brand tone (with a level of agility that allows you to switch between brand tones and objectives relatively easily, ensuring each brands’ own “personality” is well represented);
Tailoring the content and style of individual writing assignments according to their purpose - whether they are intended to sell or inform;
Creating, editing and proofreading copy work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs, continually raising the bar on creativity and writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action; and
Understanding brand target audiences, identifying key messages, and researching client industries.
Help develop new and improved content ideas for all brands internally, depending on objectives.
Be able to analyse reports and integrate findings into improving client’s objectives month-to-month
Minimum 3 years digital copywriting experience (with writing samples);
Proficiency in English;
Strong working knowledge of the predominant digital advertising platforms;
Excellent attention to detail;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
Good computer literacy, specifically on Apple hardware and software:
The business runs off Google Workplace so experience on this system is beneficial, and
All business collateral is developed on iOS Keynote;
Well-organised and responsible with an aptitude for problem-solving.
Experience with copywriting for SEO and how to naturally integrate keywords into copy, as well as the ability to conduct keyword research on relevant and high-performing search terms;
Experience using Monday.com and Slack, or similar.
*The role can be based either in Cape Town or Johannesburg, with the possibility of flexi hours and remote work becoming available after the agreed-upon probation period.
