Technical NQF 4 qualification ie., Trade tested Artisan- Mechanical Fitting and Turning with electrical;
3 years relevant experience;
Code EC1 driving license;
Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairs;
Ability to work in a team;
Attention to detail;
Good analytical skills;
Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Required to work in all weather conditions;
Required to work outside normal working hours, be on standby on intervals, called upon during emergencies and planned overtime.
DUTIES:
Implements tasks and activities associated with the fitting and machining for the functionality (Fixed Mechanical and Electrical Plant);
Receiving and machining Mechanical and Electrical plant components as required e.g. drilling, milling, polishing, etc;
Making/ fabricating replacement parts for Mechanical and Electrical plant e.g. hydraulic rams, special bolts and nuts, flanges, adaptor plates, etc;
Inspecting lifting gears, electric motors, machinery/ equipment, etc every three months for detection of defects;
Controls the tasks/activities of personnel and prioritizes outcomes;
Monitoring attendance/ conduct and output and addressing deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings/ counseling and/ or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel;
Addressing workplace conflict/ conduct through the initiation and coordination of consultative processes and implementation of specific disciplinary procedures;
Assessing and introducing measures to facilitate understanding of processes and procedures with respect to relevant applications and/ or providing input into specific training requirements;
Completes internal transactional documentation (e.g. time sheets, log sheet, progress and productivity report, etc.) and related forms (vehicle checklist);
Inserting the relevant information (quantitative/ qualitative) and/ or details of activities, and forwarding to the relevant personnel for processing;
Referring to work schedules and registers to correct deviations in entries raised during processing.
