    Electrician

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Rand Water is looking for an Electrician at their Panfontein operations site- who will take overall responsibility for all electrical work on site- new installation, periodic maintenance, troubleshooting, faulty finding and repair of Plant Equipment

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Qualified Electrician with a recognized trade test (red seal).
    • Minimum N3/Grade12/NQF 4 Certificate in Electrical Engineering
    • Desired: A National N6 Diploma in Electrical engineering
    • 3 years of supervisory experience.
    • 3 years’ practical electrical maintenance experience.
    • 2 years’ experience with P&I Drawings, read and interpret schematic drawings.

    Primary Duties    

    • Carry out planned maintenance, daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance tasks. Investigate and repair all breakdowns, by ensuring plant availability, reliability as well as ensuring safety of people and equipment.
    • Perform standby duties as and when required, thereby accepting responsibilities for all electrical installation and required decision making that will ensure plant availability after normal working hours.
    • On the job training to be provided to new personnel, assistants and apprentices. Assist and manage contractors and head office personnel for all work done in the relevant sections (i.e. isolate, test, co-ordinate work, etc.)
    • Maintenance Planning System by monitoring and analyses of section performance as well as participate in formal RCM and RCA’s.
    • Complete all planned scheduled job cards, defects, time sheet permits and log books within time in accordance with Rand Water procedures.
    • Perform Fault-finding on all electrical circuits, tracing and locating faulty cables.
    • Perform general electrical work and responsible for housekeeping.

    • Rand Water is currently looking for the Retirement Benefit Counsellor that will be responsible for achieving long term financial well-being of members through retirement benefit counselling; Deliver services fully aligned with the Pension Fund Act, Default Regulations, FSCA Conduct Standard 19 of 2021 (RF) and prevailing industry best practise. Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and providing education and guidance to members of the Fund in respect of investment options, membership classes, costs and tax implications.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • National Senior Certificate- with maths;
    • Post graduate qualification relating to employee benefits or legislation governing retirement funds;
    • Certificate/diploma in Retirement Fund Administration or equivalent;
    • Certificate FSCA Trustee Toolkit Phase 1&2;
    • PFA/FSCA required legislative knowledge,
    • Minimum 4 years working experience in the Retirement Industry,
    • MS office,
    • Valid driver’s license,
    • Proficient in English, Zulu and Sotho.

    Primary Duties
