    National Control Centre Controller

    • G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for an NCC Controller based at our Head Office in Centurion, Gauteng, reporting to the National Control Centre Manager.
    • The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the NCC Controller plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

    Main Responsibilities

    Alarm Monitoring & Response

    • Continuously monitor and promptly respond to all incoming alarms (e.g., intruder, panic, fire, technical).
    • Verify alarms, assess the nature of the threat, and initiate appropriate response protocols, including dispatching armed response, informing emergency services, and notifying relevant stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all alarm activations and responses.

    CCTV Surveillance

    • Proactively monitor multiple CCTV feeds to detect suspicious activities, identify security breaches, and observe operational anomalies across various sites.
    • Conduct forensic reviews of CCTV footage as requested for investigations.
    • Ensure all cameras are operational and report any malfunctions immediately.

    Guard Patrol Management

    • Monitor guard patrol movements and check-ins (e.g., using guard monitoring systems like a JWM/Active Guard tour system).
    • Provide remote support, guidance, and instructions to on-site security officers and mobile patrol units.
    • Ensure guards adhere to their patrol schedules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all on-site security personnel.

    Vehicle Tracking & Dispatch

    • Monitor real-time vehicle tracking systems for security vehicles and client assets.
    • Assist with dispatching response vehicles to alarm activations or incidents, providing real-time location updates and directions.
    • Report any deviations from planned routes or suspicious vehicle activity.

    Communication & Reporting

    • Maintain clear, concise, and accurate logs of all security activities, incidents, and responses in the control room management system.
    • Generate comprehensive reports on incidents, system failures, operational observations, and daily shift summaries.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, emergency services, and relevant authorities.

    Access Control Support (where applicable)

    • May involve remote management or support for access control systems, including granting/revoking access permissions as per protocol.

    SOP Adherence

    • Strictly adhere to all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency protocols, and company policies.

    Technical Monitoring

    • Monitor the operational status of all security equipment, reporting any faults or malfunctions promptly to technical support.

    Briefings & Handover

    • Provide detailed and accurate shift handovers to ensure continuity of security operations.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Grade 12 / Matric Equivalent
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a security control room environment
    • A three year Degree or National Diploma in Health and Safety or Safety Management or equivalent qualification (Advantageous)
    • Knowledge of relevant Legislations, security regulations, standards, incident, investigations techniques, risk assessment methodologies
