    New Business Development and Marketing Manager - Africa - Ekurhuleni (East Rand)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Cultivate strategic relationships with potential clients, contacts and business partners.
    • Analysis of competition.
    • Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
    • Following up on new business opportunities and progression of the opportunity to the next phase through interaction with key decision-makers both internally and externally. To document all key decisions taken and progress the new business realization.
    • Planning and preparing presentations.
    • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements.
    •  Develop and negotiate contracts.
    • Ensure that contract requirements are aligned with business operations.
    • Lead and coordinate complex decision-making processes and overcome obstacles to capturing new business opportunities.
    • Develop and utilize marketing related events, seminars, mailings and call campaigns to increase company awareness and presence in the local and international market.
    • Submit accurate and timely forecasts.
    • Create and manage an annual new business development plan.
    • Sign-off for supplier relations as Agent/Distribution.
    • Identify and sign-off local JV partners in order to meet local content needs.
    • Maintain an early business intelligence service in order to follow future prospects timeously.
    • Undertake domestic and international travel to service industry partners and for other business development opportunities as required.
    • Manage ROI on co-operative marketing opportunities including brochure inclusion.
    • Build a bottom-up annual budget and ensure all expenses are managed.
    • Identify and attend trade shows and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, to find potential new business, and to market the company’s end-to-end solutions.
    • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new Venture and company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.
    • Assess the financial viability/risk of a potential client.
    • Manage junior sales resources’ performance and set their KPIs.

    KPIs:

    • Achieve quarterly business plan goals as agreed with manager.
    • Maintain a callout average of 20 new leads per week.
    • Conduct at least two visits to existing clients per annum.
    • Conduct at least 10 visits to non-existing customers per month

    Inherent Requirements    

    Qualifications, skills, attributes:

    • Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Marketing or General Management).
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar role.
    • Ability to build rapport and relationships at commercial level.
    • Innovative and creative.
    • Results driven.
    • Demonstrated ability in service and market development skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously.
    • Project management skills
    • Problem solving, organizational and planning skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Advanced computer literacy and ability to put together sophisticated and impactful PowerPoint presentations.
    • Demonstrated ability to improve efficiencies.
    • Knowledge of the market and how to maximise sales opportunities.
    • Business plan and report writing skills.
    • Ability to travel locally and internationally.
    • Exposure to the African market and in particular mining in Africa.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop sales pipeline

    What Qualification  

    •  Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Marketing or General Management).
