Officer, Confirmations Vanilla - JHB at Standard Bank Group

Job Description

• To plan, coordinate, monitor, and deliver day-to-day automated confirmations for vanilla products, supervise and support the team responsible for all exception handling processes to ensure the achievement of delivery targets as per defined plans, quality and service standards.

Qualifications

• Secondary/High school/A levels/Matric.
• Diploma in Banking.
• Advanced Diploma in Finance and Accounting.

Experience Required

• 3-4 years of experience in financial institutions, particularly in Personal and Business Banking (PBB) or Transactional Products and Services (TPS), with a focus on trade operations, confirming vanilla products, and supporting transactional activities.
• Strong understanding of Global Markets business and a full suite of vanilla products, including FX, interest rate swaps, vanilla options, fixed-income securities, and other standard financial instruments.
• Hands-on experience with trade management systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters) and a working knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards and processing, especially in the context of trade confirmations and settlements.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and their impact on trade confirmations, reporting, and operational compliance, especially within the Global Markets and transactional product space.
• Proven experience in resolving trade discrepancies and managing trade flows across both PBB and TPS products, with strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external counterparties to ensure smooth and accurate confirmations.
