    Online Editorial Assistant (4 month contract)

    Responsibilities:

    • Researching content
    • Liaising with editorial team members about stories
    • Attending industry events
    • Preparing and conducting interviews
    • Writing articles for use online
    • Editing audio and video for use online
    • Writing supporting social media content
    • Daily online editorial operations

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
    • Understanding of social media and WordPress advantageous
    • Understanding of SEO principles and audience engagement advantageous
    • Proven experience in journalism, with a preference given to candidates with editorial experience
    • Understanding and/or experience in the mining industry would be a considerable advantage
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    • Proactive, curious, and passionate about engaging a community
    • Own car and a valid driving license.
    • Currently residing in Johannesburg
