Diploma/degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Registration with the Professions Council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Inherent requirement of the job:
Assist with after-hour, night duty and weekend duties as per Nursing Management allocations in the hospital, when required.
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Principles of Management: Supervisory, leadership, problem solving decision making, public speaking, conflict resolution and interpersonal/communication skills, the ability to function independently as well as part of the multi-disciplinary team and have Good organisational skills and the ability to function under pressure.
Knowledge of Nursing legislation related legal and ethical nursing practices and framework.
Human Resources, Labour relations legislation and Financial Management, including computer literacy (i.e. Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
