Purpose
Ensuring supply and availability of materials at the right time in right quantities to fulfill the required production plans considering the planning parameters at the most cost effective way. To manage all the transactional process and documents for procurement and day to day claims in a timely manner to ensure the adequate supply of goods / services.
Key Missions
Manages in-coming and out-going order processing and documentation, including generating delivery or shipping documents
Receives or inspects goods and verifying items against the shipment record
Gathers, verifies and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the applicable transportation method
Records received and shipped items
Stages materials in appropriate Warehouse location
Assignd INS numbers for resale and non-resale materials
Maintains consumables inventory
Ensures all work conforms to Security Standards, Operational Systems and Procedures and Regulations, including ISO 91, PCI, and Customer specifications and requirements
Works with other employees and departments to resolve shipping and receiving matters
Respects and applies Health and Safety rules to ensure a safe working environment
Holds experience and knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices and procedures
Possesses a certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected and ability to work on own initiative
Recommends changes to methods, procedures and standards to improve the quality of output
Handles some escalated queries from logistics team members
Receives, unpacks, checks, and stores merchandise or materials
Fills requisitions and orders
Packs, crates, ships or transports products and materials
Monitors order tracking system and equipment usage
Owns responsibility for documentation, including creating or preparing paper work for inbound or outbound shipments, and reviewing shipment documents, invoices, and packing lists, as well as maintaining inventory of shipping supplies
Typically reports to a manager. May supervise team members or functions within the Shipping and Receiving remit
Profile & Other Information
Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate, and develop sources of supplies, issue RFQ requests, and review quotations.
Leads engineering and facilities personnel in preparing Request for Quote (RFQ) documents required for selecting products and suppliers
Determine and correct problems that exist regarding sources of supply, availability of material and delivery.
Generate, negotiate and implement current and future supplier agreements.
Guide the purchasing activity of assigned commodities with personal involvement in buying complex items requiring specialized knowledge, experience and negotiating skills.
Manage spares inventory including the repair and replacement of tools.
Participate in the business review meetings with the production performance information
Ensure all inventory and service reports are issued on time and accurately.
Ensure data integrity is maintained at all times.
Expedite quotations and other vendor information, expedite materials, interview sales representatives, obtain routine cost information for estimating purposes, and contact vendors to resolve problems regarding invoice discrepancies.
