Operator Electrical - REF: OPERATORELEC-JW385EX/2024 at Johannesburg Water

PURPOSE

• Assist the Artisan with repairs, maintenance and installation of all Electrical Plant and equipment at Wastewater Works to achieve the highest effective plant and equipment availability with full regards to the safety of employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan which tools are going to be used for which jobs under guidance of the Artisan. 
• Assist with the effective and productive planning of the section by participating at Green Arears meeting and providing information regarding preventative maintenance.
• Carry out standby duties, planned and unplanned overtime as and when required.
• Report all faults to Assistant Artisan/ Management to prevent unnecessary overtime/ downtime.
• Implement, monitor and adhere to safety requirements in terms of OHSA and SANS in all Bulk Wastewater Treatment Plants, installations and facilities.
• Carry out equipment inspection on daily use and report any defects immediately.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Grade 10 with Mathematics and Science
• 2 years’ experience in performing routine preventative maintenance of all electrical, electronic installations.
• Knowledge of Basic Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace.
