Operator Technician Cutting Project at Epiroc

Mission

• Ensure the Mobile Miner 22H project is operated and maintained as per the standard operating procedures set out by Epiroc Sweden.
• Ensure that all URE training records, filing and reporting is kept up to date.
• To do maintenance and services on cutting equipment as per standard procedures. To troubleshoot system problems and the repair of such work.
• To perform duties on workshop floor of site and underground.
• To repair all electrical and mechanical breakdowns on cutting machine.
• To participate and assure a high standard of work.
• Quality work at all times.
• Extensive travel will be the order of the day during the trial period and one would be required to spend the majority of their time at mine site.
• This position will also require the individual to work underground with the Mobile Miner 22H.

Main Responsibilities Or Functions Of Job

• Ensure the MRE machines are operated and maintained as per the standard operating procedures set out by Epiroc Sweden
• Ensure that all URE training records, filing and reporting is kept up to date
• To do maintenance and services on MRE equipment as per standard procedures
• To troubleshoot system problems and the repair of such work
• To perform duties on workshop floor of site and underground
• To repair all electrical and mechanical breakdowns on MRE machines
• To participate and assure a high standard of work
• Quality work at all times
• After hours and standby duties may be required
• Be part of the safety programme and good housekeeping
• Time keeping as per company rules and regulations
• Expected to assist in other areas/divisions in the company when needed
• On the job coaching of assemblers
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Will carry out any other function or duty as may be required in terms of “The Epiroc Way”.

Required Skills And Capabilities

• Technical background
• Trade qualified artisan
• Valid driver’s licence
• Good product knowledge
• Interpersonal skills to work as part of the Workshop team
• Be presentable to customers in grooming and dress code
• Valid passport
• Extensive travel will be the order of the day during the trial periods and one would be required to spend the majority of their time at Twickenham. This position will also require the individual to work underground with the two machines

Educational Qualification

• Grade 12 or NTC 3 with trade qualification
