Oral Hygienist Grade 1 to 3 (Dental Periodontics & Oral Hygiene (Sessional) ( Maximum 20 hrs per week at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):

• Good Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook). Good interpersonal skills and perform effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Professional ethics. Ability to work independently. Ability to work under pressure. Appropriate experience in treating special needs patients.

Experience:

• Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as Oral Hygienist in respect of SA qualified employees. 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Oral Hygienist in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Oral Hygienist in respect of SA qualified employees. Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Oral Hygienists in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Oral Hygienist in respect of SA qualified employees. Minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Oral Hygienists in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Oral Hygienist.
