    Outbound Controller

    PURPOSE

    • To achieve operational excellence within the Outbound Department incorporating functions in the following areas: exports logistics planning, cutting operations, order consolidation, despatch both local and line-haul orders, co-ordinate product returns and in so doing ensure that customer requirements and company objectives and service levels are met.

     SPAN OF CONTROL

    • This role is responsible but not limited to cutting operations planning for all Outbound Dispatching processes, collaborating with other team members as well as the Department Manager.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS

    • Responsible for the efficient and safe scheduling/execution for the company’s logistics and objectives.
    • Participating and co-ordinating of audits as and when required.
    • Ensure that the DC is always in a highly presentable state and audit ready.
    • Ensure collaboration with operational teams to ensure efficient processing of cuts and exports.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and on time deliveries.
    • Communicate with Sales Consultants / team to ensure efficient execution of cuts and exports.
    • Understand and execute the planning process involved when stock leaves the distribution centre.
    • Ensure optimum utilisation and vehicle turnaround times.
    • Ensure all deliveries picked / cuts processed the previous day, are delivered the next day to local customers and within 48hrs to coastal customers.
    • Work collaboratively wit Export Planning to ensure efficient planning and execution of exports.
    • Arrange returns and collections of upliftment’s, which must be tracked throughout the return process.
    • Implementation of more efficient means of streamlining the distribution process.
    • Ensure accurate administration for transaction excellence.
    • Manage and adhere to SHE programmes and OHS act.
    • Ensure department’s consumable needs are met.
    • Ensure transporters are debriefed, paperwork is filled, and queries resolved.
    • Ensure admin and daily checking of all delivery log sheets takes place to facilitate queries and credit note requests.
    • Prevent and act on all security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively.
    • Assist the department manager in supervising outsourced companies, including daily and monthly monitoring of SLA’s and costs.
    • Be security conscious at all times.

    • Requirements

    Knowledge and skill

    • Min 3yrs previous experience in a despatch /warehouse environment
    • Knowledge of distribution centre, logistics and supply chain operations
    • Customer service orientated
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Excellent planning, organising and decision-making skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Ability to work in a strong team environment
    • Ability to develop workplace procedures and documentation

    QUALIFICATIONS

    •         Grade 12 / Matric with a pass mark for English and Math’s/Literacy
    •         National diploma in logistics/ Supply Chain management or equivalent.
    •         Computer Literate on ERP systems
    •         Minimum 3 years relevant logistics and warehouse experience in a similar role within a relevant industry.
