Part-time Lecturer: English: Diploma in Education (Grade R), Faculty of Education at Cape Peninsula University of Technology

Job Purpose

The purpose of this vacancy is to appoint a part-time lecturer to teach English 1 and English 2 in the Diploma in Education: Grade R programme on the Wellington Campus

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A relevant Master’s degree and/or B Ed Honours-degree relevant to the teaching of English .
• A relevant teaching qualification (preferably in the Foundation Phase)
• At least five (5) years’ relevant lecturing experience in teaching at Foundation Phase and/or Early Childhood level at tertiary level or five (5) years relevant teaching experience at Foundation and/or Early Childhood level at school level

• Exposure to academic teaching methodology at Foundation Phase and/or Early Childhood level
• Evidence of competence in research
• Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
• Teaching English in the Diploma, Grade R
• Curriculum development and other learning materials design
• Academic development and administration
• Administering, supervising and evaluating teaching experiences
• Learning support for and in multilingual classrooms
• Assessment and quality assurance
• Coaching and mentoring
