Job Title:
B2B2C Channel Manager
Job Purpose:
- The role will support in business development and partnership(s) establishment initiatives as part of the Samsung D2C eCommerce team to extend a multi-dimensional and value-added offering to customers.
The purpose of the position is to:
Drive new partnership growth and strategic cooperation with current and potential strategic partners, including corporates, banks, Insurance houses, SOEs prevalent in SA as well as universities and educational institutes
- Conduct research into potential new clients to develop effective sales strategies in preparation for initial engagement
- Build a sustainable pipeline of program launches
- Manage client onboarding process and deal with queries related to the partnership channel
- Manage relationships and maintain back-end catalogues to optimize revenue growth of channel
Key Responsibilities
Business Development - 50%
- Conduct research into potential new clients to develop value-added effective partnership strategies in preparation for initial engagement
- Generate leads in the Banking, Insurance, Utilities and services sectors as well as large corporates in South Africa
- Navigate organisations to Introduce Samsung offering to the relevant stakeholders in client organisations
- Align with eCommerce and business leaders to develop a value-offering to clients
- Leverage industry knowledge and network to develop relationships with strategic partners
- Cultivate new Enterprise-level client accounts
- Develop high-quality marketing material and proposal slides for Client EXCOs
- Develop compelling Value propositions for each and every B2B relationship
- Post Deal Implementation management and support to drive usage
Relationship Management - 25%
- Create a pipeline of sustainable projects/programs by constantly building relationships with new customers to maximise opportunities for revenue growth
- Evaluate the strategic and economic impact of potential opportunities, and prioritise efforts based on the impact
- Maintain existing account relationships to achieve individual and team sales targets
- Post Deal Implementation management and support to drive usage
- Create sales, key transactions and trend reports
- Identify data inconsistencies between systems, trace root-cause and log correctional procedures
- Promotions and marketing efficiency analysis
- Conduct periodic market-analysis
- Load and manage listings in the back-end systems and manage databases
Client onboarding - 25%
Manage Go-to-market related activities such as Corporate Agreements, Merchandising and branding Compliance matters, etc.
Hold training to onboard user groups and client admin teams
Handle queries from client(s) related to operational/marketing issues
- Liaise with several departments, including Customer Service, Logistics, Software and System Developers, IT, PM and Marketing, to resolve complex problems
- Manage communications and marketing material to user groups
Knowledge; Skills and Experience preferred for this Role
Essential:
- A proven deal-maker with 5 years’ experience successful B2B sales and/or partnership experience
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in conducting negotiations to close deals
- Experience with contract management
- Basic project management skills
- Excellent presentation and PowerPoint skills to create marketing material and slides for client EXCOs
- Relentless and experienced in identifying target leads, reaching out and generating sales from cold leads
- Undergraduate degree essential
Preferred traits:
- Experience in selling through B2B2C channels and development of ecosystems
- A track record of success in partnerships at a technology start-up, Fintech or related environments
- Expertise in developing business cases and innovative reciprocal partnership agreements (e.g., involving revenue share, mutual activations, etc.) to drive topline revenue growth for all parties involved
- Experience in onboarding clients and account management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and sales reporting
- Basic understanding of tech, eCommerce platforms, portals and back-end processes
- MBA in Strategic Marketing
- BCom in Marketing, Fintech, Information systems or related undergraduate degree
