    Payroll Controller

    To manage the payroll administration process, ensuring that the payroll governance framework is adhered to by all stakeholders. Responsible for MICS and SOX checks as well as ensuring payroll input is captured accurately and on time by the payroll administrators. Ensure the payroll administrators adhere to the SLA requirements

    Key roles and responsibilities

    • Ensure SLA’s are achieved
    • Assign tasks to payroll administrators
    • Tracking/Distributing/checking of all Payroll input
    • Oversee the quality of work of the payroll administrators (checks and audits)
    • Manage and record payroll administrator errors and provide feedback to lead
    • Provide on the job training and coaching for the payroll administrators
    • Will need to work closely with the relevant BU Stakeholders
    • Evaluate and sign off of daily payroll input
    • Approval of certain off cycle payments i.e. loans, advances
    • Do monthly audit reports and sign off variance reports
    • Create separation list and send for approval
    • Manage SLA and KPI reporting and feedback to Payroll Lead
    • Sound knowledge of the relevant payroll regulatory require . e.g.. PAYE
    • Ability to liaise effectively
    • Analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Good communication skills
    • Good Excel & MS Office Skills
    • Review integrity of dummy payroll for completeness and accuracy, sign off.
    • Provide support on process training
    • Attend Workshops and process improvement drives
    • Assist auditors when any audit requirements

    Profile

    • Minimum Bcom or Finance related degree with 3 5 years payroll experience
    • Supervisory/People Management experience essential
    • Africa payroll experience advantageous
    • SAP HR and/or Payspace experience advantageous
    • Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, regulations and governance essential
    • Sound knowledge of the relevant legal aspects e.g. PAYE (SA and/or Rest of Africa)
    • Excellent numeric skills essential
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality essential
    • Analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail essential
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Good communication skills
