Planning Manager at Mr Price Group

MRPSPORT has an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager (Apparel), who is solutions and results driven, to lead and empower a planning team to deliver exceptional results. 

You are a great team player and will lead and enable your planning team to develop merchandise plans that will deliver budgeted profit through ensuring our customers are delighted with the right stock, at the right place and at the right time. Along with your team and in partnership with the buying function, you drive sales, margin and inventory turn to maximise profitability. You achieve sales, margin and inventory goals through operational and process excellence. You provide insightful and actionable analysis that are responsive to merchant concerns. You recruit the best talent and develop and motivate your team to high levels of performance. You think strategically, with an emphasis on continuous improvement across the entire supply chain.   You provide insights and reports to the Planning Executive.

Your key areas of responsibility will include:

1. Recruit, select and develop top talent, through providing focused development opportunities and providing effective leadership, feedback and motivation
2. Lead your planning team to develop strategies and build assortments in partnership with the buying function. This will focus on analysing large amounts of data (including market trends) to ensure insights are created to drive profitable sales.
3. Lead your planning team to ensure relevant planning metrics are achieved (this includes management of one-liners, stock turn, on time delivery, clearances, markdowns stock ageing).

To be considered for this Planning Manager opportunity you must have:

• BCom or BSc Degrees majoring in Maths, Stats, Finance, Accounting or Economics
• You have at least three years of experience leading a team in a similar role
• A successful and proven merchandise retail planning track record.
