Plant Supervisors (Tygerberg Quarry) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualification/Experience:

• Applicants must possess a Grade 12 certificate (Matric) qualification and/or relevant experience.
• Must be in a possession of a valid unendorsed RSA driver’s license
• Competent A Person EMS advantageous
• Previous industry experience essential
• Relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous
• Reliable transport due to extended hours of work, overtime and weekend work at times.
• Supervisory Skills.
• Able to work in a team.
• Basic Mechanical Knowledge.
• Communication Skills.
• Interpersonal Skills.
• Rational and logical thinking – able to understand workings of the plant
• Decision making skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Duties and responsibilities (not limited to):

• Ensure adherence to Health; Safety and Environmental standards, ensuring safe work practices.
• Convene daily meetings with employees and ensure action items are recorded
• Drive to pit to examine and make safe the quarry face before any activity starts.
• Ensure availability of sufficient material on surge piles to produce.
• Meet production demands, and targets.
• Ensure operators meet maximum tons per hours targets
• Direct load and haul team during breakdowns.
• Ensure benches are bermed off.
• Report all production and maintenance related downtime to Foreman
• Liaise with Maintenance team to ensure timeous and efficient maintenance and repairs.
• Liaise with Technical department to ensure quality product is produced.
• Any other ad hoc duties.
