    Portfolio Consulting Professional

    Role Headline

    • Provides deep technical knowledge in an assigned portfolio and advises both sales organization and customers in capabilities and options how to use and integrate Siemens products effectively. Passion for technologies such as PLC’s, HMI’s, SCADA and intelligent devices and stays up to date with the latest developments within our portfolio.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    • Supports the respective sales organization of the unit in approaching and serving potential customers best and advice both sales organization and customers in capabilities and options how to use and integrate Siemens' offerings effectively (Simatic WinCC, TIA Portal, S7 products)
    • Serves sales organization and customers as an expert in product application with respect to the portfolio of the assigned organizational unit.
    • Constantly analyzes product portfolio of the dedicated customers client overall goals and objectives.
    • Consults with customer stakeholders to integrate Siemens' products and gives strategic, commercial, and organizational recommendations.
    • Creates respective technical and commercial concepts and offerings to support the sales process.
    • Plans and completes consulting assignments to industry partners on technical and commercial level.
    • May take responsibility for new orders or consulting projects.
    • May support the sales organization in contract negotiations at all stages with information and analyses.
    • May be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities and innovating consulting portfolio.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Educates sales team and channel partners to multiply efforts.
    • Develops and presents PLC/SCADA solution proposals, including estimating, compiling bill of materials, system architecture diagrams and RFP/RFQ responses. Technical assistance to focus customers.
    • Actively participates in account planning in cooperation with the local sales for strategic opportunities. Provides customers and account representatives with strategy and solution advice and support during pre-sales discussions on PLC/SCADA solutions.
    • General understanding of IT networking and remote communication, including GPRS & 3G communication, modems, private APNs, VPNs, routers, LANs, WANs, VLANs, firewalls
    • Business Development and product consultation for automation solutions in South Africa Previous PLC/SCADA project experience is advantageous.
    • Understanding on industrial communication Protocols like Profibus, ProfNet and MODBUS.
