    PR Writer

    What We'll Bring:

At TransUnion, we have a welcoming and energetic environment that encourages collaboration and innovation. We are consistently exploring new technologies and tools to be agile. This environment gives our people the opportunity to hone current skills and build new capabilities, while discovering their genius.
Come be a part of our team – you’ll work with great people, in a welcoming and empowering culture.

    What You'll Bring:

We’re looking for a PR writer to help generate new and leverage existing PR content and Corporate Communications activity across our growing global footprint. Present in 30+ international markets (out of 8 primary hubs), we have a diverse need for PR and corporate communications content. This varies from data-driven thought-leadership activities through to corporate announcements and executive communications and positioning.

Part of our Corporate Affairs and Communications team, this role is based in the virtual Global Capability Center in South Africa. The successful candidate will join a dynamic communications team that helps build and protect TransUnion’s reputation with key stakeholders worldwide. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across TransUnion’s International markets as well as the U.S.  You’ll work collaboratively with subject matter experts in everything from AI, analytics and decisioning, to insurance and evolving FinTech markets and capabilities.

You will be responsible for supporting our International Communications Directors in delivering a range of ongoing and discrete PR and Corporate Communications projects. You’ll need to have the ability to quickly assimilate new information and distill it into a PR (and wider communications)-friendly format (press releases, by-lined articles, spokesperson briefings for live and pre-recorded interviews, and key messages for issues-based work).

Often, you’ll be adapting centrally created content for use in a diverse range of international markets. Cultural astuteness and the ability to work across a complex matrix organization is a must.

You will partner with colleagues in a diverse range of adjacent teams (including Brand Management and Marketing) to leverage insights and tell the TransUnion story. Primarily supporting the B2B and Corporate PR program, you’ll need to be flexible and turn your hand to a wide variety of topics (including issues and B2C activity if needed).

This role will suit someone who has journalist, writing or PR agency/and in-house communications team background. Although the core role duties are defined, the successful individual has the ability to shape their career and suggest additional writing projects that could help build and steer the future success of TransUnion’s PR programs.

    Impact You'll Make:

    What You’ll Bring:

    • A born writer

    • Ability to manage multiple streams of work and stakeholders

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to assimilate complex information and a wide range of topics (including those relating to ESG)

    • A positive attitude and the ability to form collaborative working relationships with team members in the U.S. and International markets

    • Flexibility and ability to gracefully navigate deadline pressure and multiple requests

    • Motivation, with a talent for working often independently in a global environment

    • 5+ years relevant professional experience, preferably in a corporate or agency setting

    • Bachelor’s degree

    What We'd Love to See:

    • A proven writing record/body of work

    • Experience handling large/complex/often competing organisational needs

    • Other PR/wider corporate content experience (e.g., media briefing/presentation notes, executive positioning/communications, issues-based work/communications etc.)

    Additional Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple streams of work. The candidate should be a passionate writer having handled technical and/or corporate briefs previously. Experience of working with international markets desirable but not a must – you’ll be working with teams across multiple time zones.
