Pre-Analytical Runner (Permanent Position) at Lancet Laboratories

Job Summary:

• Responsible for sorting and distribution of samples and scanning of documents onto the courier tracking system

 Minimum Criteria Needed:

• Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification

 Minimum Experience:

• 0-1 Yrs Relevant Working Experience

 Relevant Job Knowledge:

• Computer literate
• Laboratory information systems

 Key Performmance Areas:

• Administers sorting and distribution of samples (“shooting”) according to set standard operating procedures to ensure the correct and prioritised channelling of specimens to various laboratories/ sites.
• Responsible to scan shipping batches onto courier tracking system
• Allocates lab numbers and time stickers to all unlogged work and hands urgent samples to logger for immediate processing
• Signs for the waybills, Courier tracks to establish arrival time and places time sticker on waybills
• Opens up the shipping batches for scanning and sorts on benches for pre-analytical admin clerks to collect
• Responsible for basic housekeeping including suitable cleaning and preparation of equipment components such as fridges according to set standard operating procedures.
