Experience: Appropriate experience in porter services in a hospital/health environment. Inherent requirement of the job:
Must be prepared to work shifts, night shift, weekends, on public holidays and be able to report for duty at 06:30 (weekends and public holidays).
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good interpersonal and communication skills and have strong leadership skills as well as innovative and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team context.
Thorough knowledge of the Dead-on Arrival protocol, the removal of corpses protocol Knowledge of the grievance and disciplinary procedures and Staff Performance Management System.
Knowledge of the Infection Prevention and Control Standards Computer Literacy (MS Word and Outlook).
The ability to perform tasks such as lifting patient’s from/onto beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs.
