Principal Professional Officer- Transport Economist at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• B degree/B Tech or Advanced Diploma in Transport Economics
• Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience including modelling, pricing strategies, market survey designs, econometric modelling, transport cost and benefit analysis and travel demand management, planning and implementation
• Experience in working in local government contexts will be an advantage
• Valid driver’s license

Key Performance Areas

• Conduct comprehensive economic research and analysis on transportation systems and policies
• Provide and facilitate specialised economic appraisal input to transport strategies, policies, programmes and projects
• Collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders
• Using analytical tools to guide evidence based decision making
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of transport programmes, projects and policies
• Project manage projects to effectively meet the service delivery imperatives of the particular business unit or function area
• Governance and management of contracts/ projects in compliance with the Contract Management Framework (CMF) of the City and to ensure project success by minimising project budget overruns and lack of service delivery
