Principal Software Engineer (Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town)
Serving as a primary technical point of contact for external technology resources.
Providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
Providing design input across a product.
Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for developing system components of moderate complexity.
Designing and working with complex data models.
Mentoring and leading software developers interested in consultancy on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
Requirements
Demonstrate 10 years of Software Engineering experience
Demonstrate knowledge of multiple programming languages, currently we are primarily using C#, React/ Angular, JavaScript ,TypeScript as well as some Java.
Demonstrated experience in architecting, deploying, and managing applications on Amazon Web Services.
Knowledge of various AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and Cloud Formation.
Understanding of Elasticsearch architecture, indexing, querying, and performance tuning
Possess extensive knowledge of application architecture, and in particular micro-services and RESTful APIs
Experience with Databricks, Python, PySpark , AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing is advantageous.
