Process Controller - Bellville South at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Monitor, control and make adjustments to the operational parameters of the Colour Treatment Plant and the Pasteuriser to achieve the desired final product quality
• Responsible for the overall operation of both plants on a shift basis
• Optimise the operation of various utilities such as Steam, chillers, compressors and effluent in order to effectively operate the Processing plants
• Responsible for complying with the effective management of safety on shift, in accordance with company rules and legal requirements
• Develop sufficient understanding of the plant and processes to be able to effectively troubleshoot and optimise processes on the plant
• Ensure that quality specifications are met and operational losses are minimised
• Ensure that throughput is met alongside the quality targets
• Ensure that an exceptional level of housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained in the plant
• Responsible for stock control w.r.t. filter media and activated carbon
• Keep all equipment in neat condition and report all repair/maintenance needs
• Actively participate as team member of GMP team

Qualifications & Experience    

• Grade 12 (post matric qualification in Chemical Engineering preferred)
• NQF 4 (minimum) in Chemical Operations
• Understanding of PLC operation, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, steam generation and usage
• Code 8 & forklift license
• 5 years Chemical plant experience
