Process System Operator - Bonnievale at Lactalis South Africa

Job Description    

• Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Powder department with the main responsibilities will be operating on specialized equipment. In addition to this the successful candidate will also be responsible to disassembling and assembling powder plants for CIP process. Responsible for the separation of milk and whey and monitor separation process.   Successful candidate must have complete basic dairy course. Sound knowledge and understanding of separation and cream handling.  Must know the basic principle of CIP and sterilization. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

Required Skills    

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• A certificate/diploma in NQF 3 Dairy Primary Processing will be an advantage
• Computer literate
• To be a team player
• At least 2-3 year’s experiences within a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to work shifts, overtime, on weekends and public holidays
• Basic dairy knowledge
• Must be willing to work in an extremely humid environment
• Must not be afraid of heights
• Physical strength and good health to move pallets and weighing of 25kg bags
• Willing to work in an extremely environment conditions. 

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Main responsibilities will be to operate on specialized equipment.
• Sampling of whey, milk, buttermilk and external whey to test on FT120 for solids, protein and fat.
• CIP of separators and Tecnal screens.
• Off load of external whey.
• CIP of Silo’s.
• Ensure product is cooled down after separation
• Pre checks on machines before start up
• Weekly inspection on evaporators.
• Testing of chemical concentration on a daily basis.
• Monitoring separation process on different machines, clarifier and milk separator, big and small.
