    Brand Manager - Stellenbosch

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis, a Top Employer in SA, at our offices in Stellenbosch, Western Cape in the position as a Brand Manager and lead the development and implementation of the brand strategy to deliver the company objectives. 

    Required Skills    

    • 3yr Marketing & Sales Diploma/Degree
    • Minimum 3-5 years brand management experience within FMCG environment;

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Set key objectives for brands to meet strategic goals.
    • Translate these objectives into communication, innovation and activation plans;

    Product Management

    • Brief and implement brand activities aligned to annual brand plans
    • Ensure products constantly meet both market expectations and technical specifications;
    • Plan and execute new product launches;
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure product and brand specific project outcomes are met;
    • Market and Consumer Insight - Monitor Market dynamics (growth, shares, competitor activities) and Brand Health
    • Keep abreast of main consumer trends and perceptions;

    Sustained Profitability:         

    • Track Brand financial performance against plan (Turnover and Profitability) – Identify opportunities to improve profitability

    Product Education and Awareness

    • Provide reports as required on brand or category performance to marketing managers, sales and internal marketing staff;

    Temp Management Accountant: Supply Chain and Procurement

    Job Description    

    • The purpose of the role is to provide financial support to the business within the specific function, through the relevant analysis of information using insight and judgement. The end result is to drive the business objectives while supporting improved quality decision making.     Required Skills

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our plant in Eastern Cape Port Elizabeth Plant and take on the challenge of managing our Quality department. Successful candidates need to have at least 2 - 5 years' relevant experience within a Fresh & UHT Manufacturing plant experience , must be able to demonstrate knowledge in Microbiology, Analytics, Supplier Management ,Strong people management experience, be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills    

    • Degree Qualification in either Food Science, BTech or B.Sc
    • 2 years Cheese Manufacturing plant experience OR 2-5 Years UHT Manufacturing plant experience
    • Experience in auditing Suppliers and Knowledge of a Supplier system
    • Knowledge in Microbiology, Analytics, Supplier Management,
    • Strong people management experience through building a positive and motivated staff compliment.
    • Computer literacy on Microsoft Office packages is essential.

    • Support on Industrial projects, Processes, RCA activities, as well as Improvement processes, and deliver an excellent support service through effective cross functional KPI’s.
    • Hygiene and Cleaning Improvement through focused validations of CIP, alignment with Lactalis practices, supporting Master Cleaning Schedules on COP, and supporting Quality, industrial and Maintenance teams with leadership and guidance.

    Process System Operator - Bonnievale

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Powder department with the main responsibilities will be operating on specialized equipment. In addition to this the successful candidate will also be responsible to disassembling and assembling powder plants for CIP process. Responsible for the separation of milk and whey and monitor separation process.   Successful candidate must have complete basic dairy course. Sound knowledge and understanding of separation and cream handling.  Must know the basic principle of CIP and sterilization. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • A certificate/diploma in NQF 3 Dairy Primary Processing will be an advantage
    • Computer literate
    • To be a team player
    • At least 2-3 year’s experiences within a manufacturing environment

    • Pre checks on machines before start up
    • Weekly inspection on evaporators.
    • Testing of chemical concentration on a daily basis.

    Boiler Operator - Bonnievale

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Boiler department with the main responsibilities will be run two boilers concurrently on a continuous basis to provide the factory steam. Successful candidates needs to have at least 3 years' relevant experiences as a qualified boiler operator. Must have experience on semi-automated boiler control systems and experience in basic boiler and stoker maintenance tasks. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Must be certified as a Boiler Operator
    • 3 year’s experiences as a qualified boiler operator.
    • Experience on coal fired boiler and oil fired boiler.
    • Good communication skills

    • Operating, planning, organising and control of steam requirements for all the departments at the Bonnievale Plant.
    • To ensure that combustion coal is fed to the stokers constantly and that burnt ash is removed properly.
    • To ensure that there are culinary quality of steam at all the time. 
    • Do safety inspections and tests every hour to ensure that the safe operation of these pressure vessels are adhere to.
    • All administration tasks in the boiler house.
    • Manage all day to day activities with regards to the boiler room standards which pertains to boiler safety checks, boiler efficiency control, TDS measurement and control, boiler feed water quality control, boiler fuel quality checks, cleaning of boilers and general housekeeping.
    • Ensure that production departments are kept informed of any deviations to steam quality and supply
    • Ensure at all times that safety procedures and operating standards are a priority and are adhered to
    • Help to maintain safety and quality standards.

    Millwright - Bonnievale

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Engineering department with the main responsibilities is to ensure that inspections and basic maintenance tasks on utilities plants and equipment. Successful candidates need to have at least 5 years' relevant experience within engineering field, FMCG environment, must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance, experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment and full adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills    

    • N3 or trade test qualified in Millwright or Mechanical trade or Electrical trade
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the FMCG production environment
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
    • Experience on pneumatic and hydraulic systems and equipment
    • Proven PLC knowledge to facilitate fault finding
    • Knowledge of Drives and specialised sensors, etc.

    • Responsible for the day to day, planned scheduled maintenance, breakdowns and shutdown maintenance.
    • To ensure that an OEE of between 80% and 85% is maintained at all times.
    • Complete maintenance schedules on or before required dates on the Pragma maintenance system.
    • Complete preventative maintenance schedules and make use of data to improve preventative-maintenance
    • Feedback on job cards and machine history to be accurate and on time
    • Maintain a two-way communication with department managers and supervisors
    • Provide training to machine operators in order to service machines during normal production runs
    • Ensure that tools are clean and in working order
    • Manage and control spares inventory and critical spares
    • Adhere at all times to the quality and hygiene standards of the plant
    • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
    • Do fault-finding on equipment and PLC systems
    • Adhere to NOSA and ISO 45000 implementation
