    Procurement Business Partner

    Description: 

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Business Partner in our Springs Plant.

    Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role will responsibilities such as:

    • Responsible to ensure purchase of all Ingredients (Imports & Domestic materials) at quantities based on the production schedule supplied by Production Planner at agreed rates.
    • Be aware of and take cognizance of the focus on Core Working Capital to determine and maintain inventory levels to meet the Core Working Capital budget targets as well as agreed levels.
    • Responsible to work close with QA and Planning on expired stock and or redundant stocks by reporting any risks each month.
    • Responsible for the sourcing of ingredients to the required Kellogg specifications and standards by working close with QC, Production, R&D and Procurement Manager Ingredients
    • Responsible for working together with the Procurement Manager- Ingredients to set Supplier KPI’s,
    • Agree and implement measures to monitor and report on supplier KPI’s on a monthly basis to the Procurement Manager – Ingredients
    • Monitor the financial status of suppliers to identify any that may be at a financial risk.
    • Report any observations and concerns to the Procurement Manager – Ingredients in order for appropriate actions can be taken
    • Review, discuss and chair supplier review meetings on a quarterly basis (supplier performance against set targets)
    • Ensure Minutes of Review Meetings are taken and record keeping thereof.
    • Seek innovative and continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers to drive cost saving initiatives.
    • Responsible for core supplier’s liaison and recording of visit reports and any performance measures and actions taken.
    • Screening of potential ingredients suppliers utilising the BEE policy
    • Participate in negotiations with supplier negotiations with the Procurement Manager-Ingredients.
    • Responsible for placing purchase Contracts on SAP of all ingredients as per the supply contract and maintaining records thereof.
    • Maintain purchasing database of all approved ingredients suppliers.
    • (Commercial audit)
    • Ensure teamwork with Planning, IT and Systems Administrator to close open orders weekly on SAP.
    • Maintain the ingredients suppliers detailed list.
    • Maintain a database on prices by item, by keeping a record to all prices vs budget – monthly report.
    • Responsible to investigate and solve purchase and price variance monthly (agreed price vs invoiced price)
    • Adhere to SOX policies.
    • Adhere to the Procurement Policy and application of procedure rules.
    • Adhere to HACCP, IS9002 and the Kellogg Environmental Systems

    EDUCATION & RELEVANT YEARS JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE

    • Recognised Purchasing Diploma
    • 3-5 years’ experience in purchasing within the FMCG market.
    • Experience in international imports/exports procurement
    • Experience in Supplier Liaison
    • Experience in Commodities buying.
    • Experience in writing supplier performance reports
