Product Application Engineering Lead at EarthStream

We are seeking an Product Application Engineer Lead, based in Johannesburg, working for a global Nutrition and ingredients organization.

Job Scope:

• The Lead Engineer – is a member of the Product Application Department Team. The PAD is responsible for the product application systems and services that our client offers to its customers.
• This position will define, plan, track and manage projects to ensure it is completed on time and within budget, project's objectives are met and that the team is aligned. This position is also responsible for overseeing projects to ensure the desired result (customer’s expectations) is achieved and the most efficient resources are used.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing, mentoring and training of the PAD team.
• Responsible for defining, planning, tracking, and managing projects.
• Responsible for understanding and communicating customer’s interests
• Coordinate the project team and ensuring the team is working to accomplish project goals and meeting quality standards.
• Responsible for performing and executing risk assessment.
• Responsible for ensuring that all project info is appropriately documented.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Responsible for communicating status of the project to all stakeholders.
• Responsible for creating a work plan and developing forms to document project activities.
• Responsible for selecting suppliers for new products.
• Keep the sales teams up-to-date with new product development.
• Ensure all safety, policies and procedures are followed.
• Assist in identifying potential new products and services for development.
• Participate in attending local exhibitions, seminars, training and workshops.
• Assist in program launches to ensure successful launches.
• Perform surveys for new liquid application possibilities and follow up new project with offers and quotations.
• Prepare applicator offers for standard and tailor-made solutions.
• Quality control on installations when commissioning and report any QC problems.
• Responsible for the admin workflow of the business as well a monthly management reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5-7 years of project planning and / or management experience preferred.
• Must have electrical, mechanical, and online experience.
• Feed mill experience will be an advantage.
• Experience with Siemens Step 7, WinCC, Movicon, SEE will be an advantage.
