The Stitch team hold deep experience building fintech and developer-facing products in Africa. We started building the Stitch API to make it easier for African fintech developers to create new, improved, more ambitious products.
Responsibilities
Work closely with PMs, engineers, and business partners to identify important data science questions for our products
Conduct analysis to understand user behavior and optimize products
Build predictive and causal ML models
Develop highly-visible dashboards and automated reporting related to key performance metrics
Design, analyze, and interpret the results of A/B experiments
Shape and influence our data models and instrumentation to generate insights on new areas of opportunity and new products
Requirements
3+ years of data science/quantitative modeling experience working with and analyzing large data sets to solve problems
Expert knowledge of a scientific computing language (such as Python or R) and SQL
Strong knowledge of statistics and experimental design
The ability to communicate results clearly and a focus on driving impact
Advantageous
Strong network and content knowledge in the local Fintech or Banking space
Interest in Open Banking
Experience working in B2B SaaS, API or Payments companies
Experience as a data scientist or engineer in building data infrastructure
Strong knowledge of customers and customer needs in various key markets - including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana
Strong understanding of developers and what makes a good developer experience
