    Professor - Department of Human Resource Management

    Responsibilities
    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Lecturing at the postgraduate level;
    • Mentor and supervise postgraduate students;
    • Scientific research and publications in the Industrial Psychology and/or Human Resource Management and/or Labour Relations Management fields with a specific focus on future of work topics;
    • Take on leadership roles in the department and Faculty;
    • Collaborate with local and international scholars; and
    • Liaising with students and industry partners

    Minimum Requirements
    Professor

    • A doctoral degree with a specialisation in the field of Industrial Psychology or Human Resource Management or Labour Relations Management;
    • A record of publications in accredited and peer-reviewed journals;
    • Successful supervision of postgraduate students at masters’ and doctoral levels;
    • Extensive lecturing experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level;
    • Experience in high-level liaison with internal and external stakeholders and professional boards; and
    • An established national and international profile and network.

    Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes)

    • Appropriate language proficiency and communication skills; and
    • Computer literacy

    Added Advantages And Preferences

    • Registered member at the South African Board for People Practices or the Health Professions Council of South Africa
    • Research outputs with demonstrated contributions to the future of work ;
    • Holds an NRF-rating;
    • Demonstrated leadership roles;
    • Demonstrated evidence of obtaining external funding; and
    • Practical experience in commerce or industry.
