    Programme Manager

    The Role

    Bizmod Consulting is looking for senior Programme Manager candidates for a contract position in a corporate, telecommunications environment. The Programme Manager will assist on complex ICT Programme and Project Delivery; and will be designated to work with account management in the Public Sector, servicing clients that are typically state-owned entities (SOEs). A minimum of 5+ years’ relevant experience is imperative

    Key Requirements:

    • 5+ years’ Programme Management experience
    • Previous working experience account managing SOEs
    • Experience working on complex ICT Programme and Project Delivery

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma or similar qualification
    • Programme Management certification / equivalent qualification (PMBOK / Prince II / APMP / RPM level 4 / CAPM / PMI)
    • MSP certification is highly desirable

    Experience:

    • Project / Programme Management experience using leading methodologies and processes
    • Understand budgetary control and resource allocation procedures
    • Experience managing multiple parties including Senior Project Managers and third-party Vendors
    • Managing large teams across multiple locations
    • Complementary business and leadership experience
    • Business Analysis exposure
    • Change Management exposure

    General Programme Management Responsibilities

    • Plan, define, monitor and execute programmes in accordance with the Programme Director’s strategic direction.
    • Co-ordinate programme integration points and interdependencies.
    • Recommend on project and programme initiation readiness.
    • Ensure that delivery of new products or services from the projects-environment is to the appropriate levels of quality; within the set time frames; within budgets; and in accordance with the programme plan.
    • Manage third party contributions to the projects and programme as appropriate.
    • Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects within and across the domains.
    • Manage the programmes budget on behalf of the strategy and programme owner; monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the programme progresses.
    • Structure the roles and responsibilities of prioritised projects and programmes within the domain.
    • Define the programme objectives, ensuring quality throughout the programme domain.
    • Demonstrate a key understanding of widely accepted project and programme management methodologies in order to appropriately execute projects and programmes in line with the business requirements.
    • Align internal resources (people; processes; procedures and systems) with programme requirements.
    • Ensure the effective delivery of the requirements by ensuring that the appropriate guidelines / frameworks are provided; deadlines are set; budgets are approved and appropriately managed; resources are available and targets and measurements are agreed.

    Programme Planning

    • Initiate, plan and manage activities within the specified domain.
    • Steward of project planning and management documentation of all the activities within the domain (e.g. consistent status reporting; issues and risk identification; monitoring; escalation and resolution / mitigation plans and processes).
    • Participate in the estimation, preparation, monitoring, and control of cost budgets for all projects / programmes in the domain.

    Project Management

    • Give input into- and integrate projects plans relevant to the programme.
    • Monitor projects’ progress against project and programme plans.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Manage stakeholders both upward and downward.
    • Identify and Manage all programme level stakeholder relationships and ensure they are continually informed of the programme status, time, and cost.

    Scope Management

    • Manage Scope – develop programme definition and scope management documents including, but not limited to the scope statement, programme objectives, scope change control, programme plan.
    • Work with the Project Managers to define and manage related projects’ scope in accordance with the programme scope.

    Communication Management

    • Responsible for timely communications / reporting to project governance and overall governance within the domain.
    • Set and manage all communications across the programme.
    • Ensure all relevant written and/or verbal communication is relevant and specific to the programme.

    Risk & Issue Identification and Management

    • Manage the delivery risk to ensure a successful outcome.
    • Manage programme risks by collating project risks and issues, as well as identifying; creating mitigation strategies and following proper risk management documentation processes.

    Quality Management

    • Be Responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the projects and programs within the relevant domains.
    • Ensure all quality standards are identified and outputs adhere to these standards.

    Governance

    • Define programme governance and related controls.

    Reporting

    • Provide on-going reports on the progress of the programme and projects within the programme domain to the programme sponsor.

    Proactive Team Support

    • Ensure knowledge sharing within the domain and across projects.
    • Build; manage and motivate the programme team.
