POSITION DESCRIPTION

• To manage medium scale Capex projects (including site construction management) and to have an oversite role in the overall execution of the Capex budget for Gyproc and Isover.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant tertiary Technical Qualification (ie Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical degree/BTech/National Diploma/other).
• Completed Project Management course will be an advantage.
• 5 years experience in a Project Management role preferable within a process manufacturing environment or senior plant management role.
• Excellent safety knowledge and application thereof in project management and construction environments or manufacturing plant environment.
• Project Management and Engineering proficiency to manage projects in different manufacturing and construction environments.
• Interface with different engineering fields to execute engineering solutions where applicable.
• Construction experience.
• Commissioning experience.
• EPCM Contract Management for medium capex (ZAR100 - 300million).
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously in a complex environment with diverse projects
• Exceptional planning and organizing skills
• Proven capability working within defined Project budget and timelines
• Computer literacy is essential (MS-Office, SAP, Excel}
• Ability to work with and interpret AutoCAD / Engineering drawings
• Excellent supervisory skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Assertive and good communication skills with diverse stakeholders
• Team player

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Set the standard for project safety management with compliance to group and South African legal standards
• Develop and continuously improve contractor control on site
• Management & development of the 3 - 5 year CAPEX plan
• Define and propose annual CAPEX budget In conjunction with the relevant departments
• Manage annual CAPEX plan for the company and ensure spend is in line with budget
• Individual project management from design to commissioning & startup
• Ensure compliance to group financial/ procurement I tendering procedures in line with group businesscontro l framework
• Set the standard for application of WCM Early Equipment Management ensuring group best practice project management tools are utilised, (engineering design, project planning etc.)
• In conjunction with the relevant departments, develop training plans, operating procedures & maintenance procedures for all new equipment and infrastructure improvements
• Liaise with group engineering and group process experts to ensure  equipment and process best practices are implemented
• Develop and manage engineering drawing registers and control systems for all sites
