    Project Manager

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Project Management

    • Overall Responsibility and Accountability for the successful execution of the projects within Budget and Schedule and to the satisfaction of Key Project Stakeholders.

    • Accountable for implementing Overall Project Quality Assurance (QA), Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Policies and Procedures across all projects under his/her ambit.

    • Sets the Ethical Standards and exemplifies the standard throughout the projects.

    • Manage the Development, Implementation, and Evaluation of all projects under his/her ambit

    • Oversees Planning, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning in order to ensure completion of projects as efficiently and effectively as possible.

    • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

    •  Project status reports; budget monitoring and trend tracking

    • Ensure that projects are well coordinated both on a Local and Regional level 

    • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

    • Manage Stakeholder expectations.

    • Frequent site visits

    Project Engineering & Supervision

    • Preparation of conceptual scope of work and design in accordance with Puma Technical Standards, Industry Best Practice, International Standard and Local Regulations.

    • Preparation of Project Budgets.

    • Ensure that designs are fit for purpose and optimally design to ensure ease and safe Operations.

    • Constantly improving designs by implementing Value Engineering. 

    • Ensure that stakeholders and end users are aligned with the scope of work.

    • Review and Supervise Engineering Consultants during the detail design phases

    • Reviews inspection reports and assists in resolution of field construction problems

    • Monitors engineering aspects of facility start-ups; ensures project start-up plans and required documentation are completed and coordinated with Operations and Maintenance Department personnel.

    • Review of engineering deliverables, redlining drawings.

    • Serves as liaison person with the Contractors regarding the design and construction.

    • Effective communications between engineering, technical, construction, and project controls groups

    Contract Management

    • Ensure that contracts are implemented on all projects.

    • Authorizes or recommends change orders

    • Assist in claims resolution;

    • Representative in construction contract dispute resolution meetings.

    Planning

    • Accountable for the overall project schedule.

    • Prepare projects schedules and align with stakeholders

    • Updating of project schedules with actual progress.

    • Optimization of projects schedule

    • Co-ordination of project schedule between stakeholders

    Stakeholder Management

    • Ensure that stakeholders are kept appraised with project progress and issues regularly.

    • Manage and accommodate stakeholder expectation.

    Leadership

    • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Experience/Qualifications:

    • Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years varied construction experience.

    • Project Management Certificate/Diploma/Training

    Skills

    • Knowledge of the International Codes and Standards

    • Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

    • Ability to work remotely and autonomously.

    • Well rounded experience in project management with experience and exposure in the different areas of project management i.e. Planning, Contract Management, Risk, HSE, etc.

    • Experience in on-site construction and project management.

    • Knowledge of FIDIC & international contract frameworks

    Competencies:

    • MS Project – Intermediate

    • Excel – Intermediate

    • External – Clients, Contractors, Consultants, Regulatory Authorities
