    Project Manager

    Duties/Pligte        

    • Across the portfolio of studies, both those funded currently, as well as future studies coming online, the Project Manager will support the PI in managing the administrative and organisational components of each study.

    These duties will include:

    • Managing regulatory submissions, approvals and compliance requirements for research studies.
    • Coordinating communication and engagement with study partners, funders, regulatory bodies and community stakeholders.
    • Organising and supporting consortium meetings, project logistics and study administration.
    • Facilitating research governance processes, including agreements, permits and sample shipment arrangements.
    • Supporting research dissemination activities, including community engagement, communications and reporting.
    • Developing and maintaining study documentation, standard operating procedures and project plans.
    • Assisting with grant applications, study protocols, budgets and financial monitoring.
    • Supporting data, statistical and laboratory management planning across studies.
    • Coordinating procurement processes and service provider payments.
    • Monitoring project expenditure and cost points.
    • Working closely with research, regulatory and operational teams to ensure high-quality study conduct and data collection.

    Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes        

    • Relevant master's degree in medicine, public health, project management, health sciences, or a related field.
    • At least three years' project management experience.
    • Leadership, mentoring, people-management and conflict-management skills.
    • Experience in laboratory and/or clinical research and study coordination.
    • Strong organisational, multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
    • The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
    • High levels of accuracy, accountability and self-management.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, file-sharing platforms and video-conferencing tools.
    • Sound interpersonal skills.

    Recommendation/Aanbeveling        

    • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
    • Fluency in isiXhosa and/or Afrikaans.
    • Experience with REDCap.
    • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
    • An interest in pursuing a PhD and contributing to academic outputs, including publications and conference presentations.
