Project Support Analyst at Sanlam Group

What will make you successful in this role?

• Administer and maintain project support tools, such as project management software, collaboration platforms, and reporting tools.
• Ensure the Project Management tool (PPO) is used effectively across the portfolio to track project progress and performance. 
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of PPO configurations to align with project needs.
• Administer and manage Jira boards, ensuring they are configured to support project tracking and reporting. Provide training and support to team members on Jira usage.
• Develop and maintain BI dashboards to provide clear and actionable insights into project performance using tools such as Power BI, or similar platforms. 
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all visualizations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data and requirements needs and translate business needs into actionable project and portfolio support items.
• Communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for users to maximize utilization of project support tools, promoting best practices and efficiency.
• Provide technical support to project teams on the use of project support tools.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for portfolio support tools and related processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate tasks, streamline workflows, and enhance data quality.
• Develop and implement best practices, guidelines, and standards for utilizing project support tools.
• Research and recommend new tools and technologies that can enhance project support services.
• Implement and integrate new tools into the existing project management framework.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in project management and support.

Qualification

• Grade 12
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certifications in Jira administration or BI tools are desirable but not mandatory

Experience 

• Proven experience as a Project Support Tool Specialist or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, or similar platforms, including report or dashboard development and data modeling.
• Experience in customizing and configuring project support tools to meet specific requirements. 

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong technical skills with proficiency in project management software (e.g., PPO, Jira Align, Clarity), collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams,), and reporting tools (e.g, Power BI).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to train and support project teams.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
