We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing our organization's procurement processes, managing vendor relationships, and driving cost-effective purchasing strategies.
Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with organizational goals
Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards
Analyze market trends, supply chain risks, and opportunities to inform procurement decisions
Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to payment
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices
Utilize ERP systems to streamline procurement processes and enhance data-driven decision-making
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on procurement activities and cost savings
Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team
Expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation
Proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, and financial management
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices
Knowledge of industry-specific procurement practices and international trade regulations
Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
