    QA Compliance Officer - Maitland

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring that internal audits are conducted, reported and documented in line with the certification standards within the organisation.
    • Ensuring that the food safety & quality management system documents are reviewed and updated annually, co-ordinating the activities of this across Cape Herb and Spice sites.
    • Assisting with presenting and answering questions during external audits.

    Job Objectives:

    • Ensure 100 % compliance to internal audit schedule throughout the year
    • Develop and execute a plan of review of all food safety documentation that is well balanced and achievable based on the different sites needs.
    • Support the role & function of the HACCP site team leaders at site with executing change control within the system.
    • Co-ordinating the execution of projects assigned

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • Proven track record with conducting audits in an objective, timeous manner
    • Proven track record of in-depth knowledge of food safety systems & equipment design requirements for a dry food production environment
    • Proven track record of strong co-ordination, planning and administrative skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft office products (excel, word, outlook)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in particular in English). Able to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
    • Accurate and concise in work to ensure that information provided to others is accurate and clearly understandable
    • Good research skills

    Required Prior Learning/Experience:

    • Tech/ Advanced Diploma in Food Consumer Sciences, B.Tech / Advanced Diploma Food Technology/ B. Sc Food Science / B. Sc Biotechnology or other relevant science related degree. Copies of qualifications must be submitted with a CV
    • Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience
    • Experience working as a HACCP team Leader
    • Training in Internal auditing + Min. 2 years’ experience doing internal & external audits
    • Prior training & experience in BRCGS standard
    • Experience and training in IFS standard is an advantage
    • Valid driver’s license & Own reliable transport as this position requires travel between sites (Muizenberg, Westlake, Maitland)
