    Quality Control Analyst

    About the Role:

    The QC Analyst is responsible to ensure that the product manufactured & purchased meets standard specifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of taste panels
    • Collect samples from the chute and log samples into system & relevant trackers
    • Prepare samples according to method, prepare taste panel sheets and set up panels
    • Capture taste panel results on the System
    • Keep a retention sample of each batch and ensure system is updated with location
    • Conduct analytical testing as per system for each item
    • Conduct calibration and verification of lab equipment
    • Ensure Good Laboratory Practices are followed
    • Approve items as soon as results are available
    • Inspection of sieve tailings and magnet tailings
    • Capture results on system and address with Operations team
    • Sending pre-shipment samples to customer when required
    • Prepare samples for Micro and other external lab test required
    • Capture sample submission forms according to tests required on SAP
    • Clear communication on material out of spec and ensure handover between shifts are done accordingly
    • Conduct internal audits
    • Daily GMP factory checks
    • Replenishment of standards
    • Updating R&D std’s with approved production batches
    • Dispensing, labelling and informing Q.C
    • Detailed reporting on all trackers or systems available
    • Monitoring batches in 09 Status
    • NCR Raising and closing
    • Monitoring blending of batches when required

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Matric, with completed Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent
    • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a QC Analyst, preferably within a food manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP & GMP
    • Computer skills 
    • Internal audit experience is advantageous
