Raw Material Buyer at Cape Union Mart

Job Description

• An opportunity has become available at our Head Office (Cape Town) within Cape Union Mart for a Raw Materials Buyer  within the Green Thread Design Studio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Source & develop all trims for local production . This will be across brands, so must have the ability to understand the aesthetic of each brand and source accordingly
• Generate Purchase Orders for all trims
• Oversee order follow ups to ensure on-time delivery
• Managing trim stock levels and ordering strategic stock to cover a certain period
• Liaise with suppliers and ensure samples are requested and submitted timeously ( local and import )
• Ensure pricing of the products are competitive and within GP targets and the pricing policy.
• Selecting and sourcing reliable suppliers & building good relationships with these suppliers.
• Minimise risk through monitoring high risk suppliers (late deliveries, reliability, quality) - Maintaining and improving supplier relationships and ensuring that suppliers understand and adhere to our terms.
• Keeping up to date on stock levels

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric Diploma or degree in retail or relevant industry
• 3 – 6 years Trims Buying experience in a Clothing Design Centre or Manufacturer.
• Microsoft office package (PPT, EXCEL, Word and Outlook)
• iSync experience will be a big advantage
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Understanding of the product life cycle & acute understanding of critical path
• Relevant Industry/Product knowledge
• Experience with supplier relations.
