Reproduction Artist at Mr Price Group

Purpose

The Mr Price Home Design team is responsible for the creation of original, trend-driven design and surface pattern for the textiles and homeware in our stores. We collaborate closely with the merchant teams to build assortments that satisfy our customers and drive sales.

Supporting and working alongside our team of creatives, the repro / finished artist is responsible for preparing approved artwork accurately for print and production, across a variety of applications, for suppliers and manufacturers to execute.

The role includes deep etching of original artwork, preparing various types of artwork for production (textiles, ceramics, paper print, etc) as well as creating accurate spec sheets and visuals for products.

You have an eye for detail, are passionate about problem-solving, and meticulous about filing and artwork standards.

key responsibilities

• Grade 12 and a graphic or textile related degree or diploma
• 1-2 years experience in the textile/fashion retail industry as a designer/repro artist.
• Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator and Photoshop CC)
• Knowledge of textile / print production and manufacturing is preferable
• An eye for aesthetic detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas in a clear manner, engage in healthy debate and accept directional feedback
• Adaptable, flexible and detail orientated
• Great organizational and filing skills that ensure a seamless workflow, allowing for team support, sharing and accessibility
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and be resourceful in a fast paced, deadline driven retail business
• Self-motivated and passionate – with an entrepreneurial spirit and egoless nature
